  1. hey natalie my sister loves your song held it has meant so much to her. she has had a hard year she has been in and out of the hospital. your song is so apart of her life . when she was on chemo we would put your song held on and and pray that god would take the bad stuff out of her body. and only allow the good stuff work in her body. So I hope that when you are having a hard time you will lean on god and let him lead you on the right path.

    Hi Natalie,

Love the new cd. Ironically I am listening to the cd right now. My Favorite songs are “In Better Hands” and “Our Hope Endures”.

It is amazing how God can use a song to speak to us just when we need it the most.

I remember the first time I heard “Our Hope Endures”. It was the same day that I got some very sad news.

I am a Junior in High School in Southern Massachusetts, about 40 miles south of Boston. Since I am in a wheelchair, I have a wheelchair van that brings me to and from school each day. The only other student on my bus is a Sophomore from my school who is studying Cosmotology (I attend a Vocation Technical School). Meagan is 16 years old. In early April she was diagnosed with bone cancer in her right shoulder and arm. Amazingly, this is not Meagan’s first battle with (bone)cancer. When she was in the eigth grade she was diagnosed with bone cancer in her left leg. When her doctor’s found the cancer this time they said that after the previous battle with cancer, there was less than a 2% chance it would come back. Meagan also had eye cancer as an infant and had to have one of her eyes removed when she was less than three weeks old.

Everytime I hear “Our Hope Endures” I can’t help but think of Meagan. She continues to respond fairly well to treatment, although sometime this week she will need to have parts of the shoulder bone removed in oder to prevent the cancer from spreading. She stays in good spirits and always maintains a sense of humor.

You would think only so much can go wrong
    Calamity only strikes once
And you assume that this one has suffered her share
Life will be kinder from here

Sometimes the sun stays hidden for years
Sometimes the sky rains night after night
    When will it clear
But our hope endures the worst of conditions
    It’s more than our optimism
    Let the earth quake
    Our hope is unchanged

How do we comprehend peace within pain
Our joy at a good man’s wake
Walk a mile with a woman whose body is torn
With illness but she marches on

    Emanuel, God is with us
    El Shaddai, all sufficient
    Emanuel, God is with us
    El Shaddai, all sufficient
    Emanuel, God is with us
    El Shaddai, all sufficient

I just want to thank you for using your God-given talent to glorify the Lord. Your lyrics and your voice have spoken to my little sister’s heart and brought back the fire for Christ that she had lost for so long. After losing our father in ‘04 she began to shy away from her faith and lost her footing. Your music was the connection God used to reconnect her with the Lord and for that I am grateful.

In fact, you were the reason we were able to get her to come to the WOF conference on Saturday and I KNEW that God was going to speak to her heart while we were in that arena…and He did. :)

She was moved by your performances and in shock that she was actually going to meet you! We were within the first few people you met during the signing and she shared with you, with teary eyes, that your music was what brought her back to Christ. It must mean a lot to hear those kinda things from your fans. Even after walking away, in awe of meeting you, she was so emotional. It was beautiful.

God moved mountains this weekend and you were definitely a vital instrument in that movement. Thank you Natalie! God Bless and have an awesome week! :)

Hi Natalie! I just wanted to let you know how much you have encouraged me through your music and your book “The Real Me”. I had your Awaken CD and loved the song “The Real Me. When I saw that you wrote a book about it, I had to read it! When I heard your story I felt it was much like mine. I had recently come out of treatment for anorexia nervosa and was still struggeling with hiding behind ‘my mask’ and not showing my true emotions. The book was awesome and it really helped me get through that time in my life. I am doing great now and am in graduate school now for Christian Counseling and my ultimate goals are to work at Remuda Ranch (where I went for treatment) and Mercy Ministries! Thank God for your amazing talents!

**PS You really should come to Columbia, SC again! I saw you a few years back here, but yeah, you should come back! ;-)
