I’m Big In The Philippines

Okay - So check this out. My guitar player found this on youtube. Star magic?
Who woulda thunk?! It’s basically the “american idol” of the Philippines. Too
funny. for those of you who don’t know, they are singing my song, “Keep On
Shining”, from 2001. It was my first “popular” Christian radio single. Maybe now
i can get a T-shirt that says “I’m big in the Philippines.” Just kidding. I’m
actually humbled to know that the music is reaching around the globe, even if it
is old music.

Speaking of American Idol, do you have any favorites from this year? I haven’t

been following it much this year, and have only caught it 3 times, but from what
I’ve seen, I really think David Cook is great. Solid voice and very commercial,
relevant sound. Maybe finally a rocker will win it. What do you think?

That’s so crazy! And very, very cool! That’s a great song. I love it!

Pretty crazy huh? How God can take the music you create and spread it all around the world to impact other people’s lives. What an awesome God we serve!

I haven’t really been keeping up with american idol either, but the few times I have seen it, I’ve really been impressed with Brooke White. The one time I saw her sing, she actually reminded me of you. :) Well, talk to you soon! “Keep on shining” for God!

I am an American Idol fan…and David Cook is my favorite right now. I also like David Archuletta, but he is becoming a little predictable to watch. My favorite moment on Idol this year was when The Clark Brothers were on singing This Little Light of Mine….keep shining boys:) I love that your music was on Phillipine Idol. Maybe we will hear some of your new stuff on American Idol soon…that would be cool.

I came to this site to find your tour dates. I heard “I Will Not Be Moved” on the radio yestereday, and I had to buy it off of iTunes to listen on my runs. You have an amazing voice. You were in the group, Truth, right? I used to listen to them all the time. Lots of great voices, there. I also heard/saw you in Fort Wayne at Women of Faith a few years back, with a coule other artists who aren’t coming to mind, right now. They “bowed” to you after a song. It was funny. It was fun to read your blog.

  11. I just returned home from Spokane Women of Faith and was reading blogs, and telling my daughter about my weekend. I have to say that you were really missed in Spokane. It was an amazing weekend, I was a backstage hostesses for the speakers and they were gracious as ever! It was GREAT, but two years ago you and your hubby were there when I was a hostess and I had the pleasure of meeting your family. Your neice and my daughter share the same name. You were so missed this weekend. I missed your open heart of worship and voice/lyrics that really speak to voice of GOD. I am goin to organize some girls to take as a group to Revolve. I know it will really minister to them!

It’s so weird seeing other people sing your music! I love that song. I hope your having a great week Natalie!

  13. Lacey

I’m sure it brings you such joy to see you’re songs impacting the world in so many different arenas! Amen! I can’t wait to see where God takes my ministry.
I love American Idol. I’ve never missed a season since it began. Yes! David Cook is crazy talented, and so creative it rocks my face off. I hope he takes it all the way! Much love girl

  14. Totally think the t-shirt would be a great idea. We haven’t been following AI much this year - the few times we have watched we like Brook very much - class act.

  15. Jenny

I personally can’t decide on a favorite one on AI. I do really like Brooke White though…..but they are all fabulous.

  16. She’s no Natalie Grant!
Congrats on being global Natalie. You can not be duplicated! If Randy were a judge he’d say, “Dawg, to sing a Natalie song…dude, you have to have the chops. You were ok, but I wasn’t feeling it. You’re not close to Natalie.”
Congrats on the Dove! You are awesome.

well about American Idol..i’ve watched it every year and never missed a show..up until this season. :( i watched just about all of the auditions i do believe, but then we had to turn off the cable because we could no longer afford it so i have not been able to watch much of anything for about 2 months or something like that. BUT..i have been able to watch ONE show since the auditions ended and my favorite instantly became Brooke Taylor. i LOVE her!! no one else really jumped out at me that one time i watched it besides her so yeah. but to keep up-to-date on who gets eliminated, i check the website every thursday to see who got voted off the night before. :) gotta make sure Brooke’s still there.

although, i have to be honest. i did hear about how she messed up last tuesday night and completely stopped singing, and then when i learned that she DIDN’T get voted off, i honestly was shocked. especially since she wasn’t in the bottom two. but, the voting is up to America so i guess there must be tons of people that want to see her win. all in all, she’s still my favorite. :)

  18. i think david cook should win. Best voice, range and star potential! I like syesha too, I could watch her in a broadway play! David archuletta has a beautiful tone to his voice but ehh…there is just something about david cook that I like more! btw…thats so awesome that your 2001 song was sung in the phillipines! in 2002 when I graduated my cousin and I sang “whenever you need somebody” at our graduation. I changed just a few words (hope you dont mind) to go along with us graduating and I did not know you at the time…fast forward a few years later to when I first hear the song “held on the radio and I am listening and listening and at first I thought it was celine dion and I was like, why is celine dion on a christian station and then they said natalie grant…well I was like…isnt that the girl who’s song I sang at graduation…so I went out immediately and bought your CD and have been hooked ever since! i have seen you at two WOF conferences in columbus oh and got your autograph the first time when you were there singing held, which helped me through my first miscarriage. Your new album has gone on to help me even more as we have experienced four now! God is using you in mighty ways! I look forward to hearing your music for years to come and if your ever in need of a back up singer…i am here for you girl!

    p.s. sorry its so long!

    Love, april

Natalie , I was just catching up on all of your blogs after seeing your bulletin on my space.
These entertainers in the Philipines would be so thrilled to know that you posted them on your personal site.

I also love the toddler (or is she 3,) singing the Lords Prayer. My sister sent that to me and then I forwarded it to my Pastor. adorable and inspirational.

Thanks for being such a great communicator. I enjoy your thoughts even though I don’t always take the time to comment.
Personally , I don’t think I have ever observed a more exeptional person than you Natalie Grant. I do appreciate many personalities that come to mind as I say this . I am grateful to God for all of their inspiration.
God has given you so many gifts Natalie that make you captivating and it is just so delightful to watch you use them all so very effectively.
Thank you for the generous personlity that you are with your love, time and talent. Love, Cindy
